We checked into the Urgent Care department of Memorial Sloan-Kettering hospital an hour ago. Right now, Rusty is going through his second bag of fluid. He is visibly better - color has returned to his cheeks. For the rest of the night, he will get one more bag of fluid and two bags of blood. By that time, it will be past 1am. Then, we go home and snuggle. I hope Sunday will be good to us.

What a horrendous night you two have had … but I’m so thankful that it’s the two of you … lovingly together … and with each other - for better or for worse, in sickness and in health…and where “one can put 1,000 to flight - two can put 10,000 to flight.” I also hope/pray that Sunday will be a much better day.
When I read about snuggling - it brought tears to my eyes, and I found a portion of a poem I’d copied down from somewhere, I guess it was to share for the two of you …(and this is how I see the two of you together!)
Your touch is with me always,
It’s burnt into my skin,
As soft and warm as sun rays
When a summer day sets in.
Your soft voice never silent,
It’s forever in my ears,
Serenading every moment
And calming all my fears.
Your arms always enfold me,
The strength of angels wings,
They support and protect me wholly
With the safety a true love brings.
*HUGE but very gentle bear hug

That’s a beautiful poem, wd. Thanks so much for sharing it. Sunday was good to us. Jesse and I had a very nice weekend together. Let’s hope this week will be good, too.
hq, Katrina: Thanks for checking in.
